Well, I wrote a blog post a few days ago (Tuedsay, to be exact... so two days ago), but I never posted it. So I guess I'll have to explain, huh?
So, my bosses are related. The Senior Pastor is the father of the Associate Pastor. Anyway, they found out on Sunday morning (a few hours before church) that their mother/grandmother passed away. She was 97 years old and suffering from either dementia or alzheimers, so it wasn't a surprise. But still, it's never easy to lose a loved one.
So today is the funeral. I didn't think I would have to go... but I ended up having to run the slideshow. That sounds mean, I know, but I just don't like funerals (ha, but who does?). I would prefer to remember the deceased as I knew them, not as someone lying in a coffin. But no, I had to go.
Also, the window at my desk faces the foyer and the front door, so I had to watch them bringing in the coffin... and the body was laid out for viewing in the library, which is right across from my office. So anytime I had to walk into the hallway, or anytime someone opened the door, guess what I saw? =/ I just... don't like open-casket viewings. Once again, they detract from my memories of the person and make me remember them as this cold, plastic-looking body lying in a box. That's not what I want to remember, thanks.
I left the service after the slideshow was done (since I needed to get my work done... I AM on the clock, you know!) Now, I'm sitting at my desk and the morticians are sitting in the foyer, right in my line of sight. It's awkward. And people keep taking food over to the fellowship hall, and I can smell it! And I most likely don't even get to eat any of it... sad...
*Sigh* But the good news is, my bosses have been out of the office, for the most part, and they hopefully will be for most of the rest of the day. It's already (almost) noon! I've been here for half my hours already! Half a day left to go =D
By the way, I am no longer taking karate at the Court Club. Yes, I'm going to take some sort of martial art (either karate or TKD, depending on what dojo/dojang I like and can afford!). I just couldn't take it there anymore. Their system is not set up for learning. But I did find out that Pacific Kicks offers their first two months for $158 (which includes a uniform and I think sparring gear), and that's for an unlimited number of classes. And they have classes six days a week, so I could go basically every day, if I wanted to. But I think TKD would actually be a better fit for me. I enjoy doing kicks, and a lot of TKD is focused on kicking. But, I guess we'll see, huh? =]
Well... I don't really know what else to say... ooh, but Matt comes home tomorrow! =D And then, two days later, he'll be here! =D hehe I sooo can't wait =]
Hmm. Francis, you will be missed.
